…Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a practice of care and psychological support, based on the therapeutic use of artistic creation processes to overcome personal, temporary or chronic difficulties.

It is a complementary practice which enriches the therapeutic journey without replacing medical treatments or psychological and psychiatric monitoring.

Art therapy is distinct from rehabilitative activities, entertainment or recreational leisure activities, and is part of a process of personal exploration.

It is an opportunity for growth, allowing us to better understand and accept our experiences, a path of potential relief to do better with ourselves.

In this sense, art therapy can be considered a form of psychotherapy through art.

This method of care relies on creative experience as a means of expression, and offers avenues of communication that go beyond words.

Through this approach, the person can perceive and communicate their unique experience differently, in order to "replay" certain problems, events (conscious or unconscious) which would not have been symbolized until then, with a view to possible well-being.
